Basic house clean:
- General Areas (All Rooms)
- Dust all accessible surfaces, furniture, and shelves.
- Remove accessible cobwebs from ceilings and corners.
- Wipe down light switches and doorknobs to sanitize high-touch areas.
- Clean mirrors and glass surfaces (excluding windows, usually).
- Empty all rubbish and recycling bins and replace liners.
- Vacuum all floors (carpets and hard floors).
- Mop all hard floors (tiles, floorboards, etc.).
- Tidy up general clutter on floors and surfaces.
- Kitchen
- Wipe down all benchtops and splashbacks.
- Clean and scrub the sink, drainer, and taps.
- Clean stovetop and exterior of the rangehood.
- Wipe down the exterior of all visible appliances (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc.).
- Clean inside and outside of the microwave.
- Wipe cabinet fronts.
- Bathrooms
- Clean and disinfect the toilet, including the seat, lid, and base.
- Scrub and rinse the shower, bathtub, and tiles to remove soap scum.
- Clean sink, vanity area, and tapware.
- Wipe down cabinet fronts.
- Tidy towels and bath mats.
- Bedrooms
- Dust furniture like dressers, nightstands, and bed frames.
- Make beds or change linens if requested/applicable.
- Ensure rooms are neat and tidy
Deep house clean:
- General Areas (All Rooms)
- Remove all cobwebs from corners and ceilings.
- Dust air vents and ceiling fans.
- Wipe down all walls, doors, door frames, and skirting boards (baseboards), spot-cleaning scuff marks.
- Clean windows inside (and out, if safely reachable), including the sills, frames, and tracks.
- Dust and wipe down blinds and wash curtains.
- Move accessible furniture to vacuum/mop underneath and behind.
- Vacuum upholstered furniture, including under and between cushions.
- Steam clean carpets and rugs if needed.
- Disinfect all light switches, doorknobs, power points, and remote controls.
- Empty and wipe out the inside of all wardrobes, cabinets, and drawers.
- Empty all bins and wash/sanitize the inside of the bins themselves.
- Kitchen
- Appliances: Deep clean the oven inside and out (including racks and glass), the rangehood (including filters), and the microwave.
- Clean the fridge and freezer inside and out, discarding expired food.
- Storage: Empty and thoroughly clean inside all cupboards, drawers, and the pantry.
- Surfaces: Degrease and clean the stovetop, benchtops, and splashbacks.
- Scrub and sanitise the sink, taps, and drain area.
- Dishwasher: Run the dishwasher through a cleaning cycle and clean its filter.
- Bathroom & Laundry
- Shower and Bath: Scrub tiles and grout to remove all soap scum and mould.
- Descale the shower head and taps, clean the shower screen/door, and clean the drain.
- Toilet: Clean and disinfect the entire toilet, including the base, cistern, and behind the bowl.
- Vanity: Scrub the sink, clean mirrors, and wipe inside and outside of all vanity cupboards and drawers.
- Laundry: Clean the inside of the washing machine and dryer (lint trap), wipe down the tub, and clean behind the appliances if possible.
End of lease clean:
- General Areas (All Rooms)
- Removing all cobwebs from ceilings and corners.
- Dusting and wiping down all surfaces, skirting boards, door frames, and doors.
- Cleaning light fittings, fans, switches, and power points.
- Washing interior windows, sills, and tracks (ground-floor exterior windows also generally expected).
- Vacuuming all carpets and mopping hard floors thoroughly.
- Wiping out all built-in wardrobes, cupboards, and drawers.
- Kitchen
- Oven, Stove top, and Range hood: Deep-cleaned to be free of oil, grease, and food stains (a major focus area for real estate agents).
- Appliances: Cleaning the interior and exterior of the microwave, dishwasher (including filters), and fridge/freezer (if provided by the landlord).
- Storage and Surfaces: Wiping out all cabinets and drawers inside and out. Cleaning all bench tops, splash backs, and the sink/taps.
- Bathrooms & Laundry
- Wet Areas: Scrubbing showers, baths, and tiles to remove all soap scum and mold.
- Fixtures: Descaling taps and shower heads. Cleaning mirrors, vanity units, sinks, and the toilet (including hinges and base).
- Laundry: Cleaning the laundry tub, washing machine/dryer (if provided), including filters.
- Outdoor Areas
- Sweeping paved areas, balconies, or decks.
- Ensuring all council bins are empty and clean.
Airbnb clean
- Pre-Clean & Preparation
- Remove all guest belongings left behind.
- Strip all beds and start the laundry (linens, towels, bath mats, cleaning cloths).
- Check for damage and report any issues immediately to the host/owner.
- Empty all bins and dispose of all rubbish outside.
- General Areas & Bedrooms
- Dust all accessible surfaces, furniture, picture frames, ceiling fans, and light fixtures.
- Wipe down all high-touch areas (light switches, doorknobs, remote controls).
- Clean mirrors and glass surfaces (interior windows if needed).
- Make beds with fresh, crisp linens, ensuring a hotel-quality presentation.
- Vacuum all floors (carpets/rugs) and under furniture.
- Mop all hard floors thoroughly.
- Ensure closets and drawers are empty and clean for the next guests' use.
- Kitchen
- Check appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker) to ensure they are clean and free of leftover food.
- Wipe down all benchtops, splashbacks, and cabinet fronts.
- Clean and sanitise the sink, taps, and drain area.
- Ensure dishes are clean and properly put away. Run the dishwasher if needed.
- Restock essentials (coffee pods, tea, dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, new sponge/cloth).
- Bathrooms & Laundry
- Clean and disinfect the entire toilet area.
- Scrub the shower, bath, tiles, and sink, removing all hair and soap scum.
- Ensure fresh towels (bath sheets, hand towels, face cloths, bath mat) are neatly folded and displayed.
- Restock essentials (toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash).
- Clean the laundry area including wiping down the washer/dryer exteriors and cleaning the lint trap/filter.
- Final Touches & Quality Check
- Review all areas using a "guest's eye" perspective (e.g., look for missed hairs, dust, fingerprints).
- Ensure all lights are working and replace any blown bulbs if the host supplies spares.
- Fluff pillows, straighten decor, and ensure any specific host styling requirements are met.
- Lock up and follow specific check-out procedures/key drop-off instructions.
